Willow Bend Academy has no school athletic program, but offers academic programs for students whose athletic activities consume several hours each day. Traditional schools are generally unable to arrange schedules for such students. Michael Hill is an example of one who benefitted from our flexible program. Michael’s dedication to the sport of Ice Hockey prevented his attending a traditional school, so he was home schooled then completed high school through Willow Bend Academy Home Study program.
Michael played college hockey in Alaska and Minnesota, graduating from St. Norbert College in 2016. Following college graduation, he played a season for the Missouri Mavericks and currently plays for the Knoxville Ice Bears.
We at Willow Bend Academy are proud of him and are honored to have played a part in his high school education.
As noted above Willow Bend Academy has no school athletic program, but that certainly does not mean we have no athletes. Our students represent numerous sports including golf, gymnastics, olympic equestrian training, soccer, and rodeo barrel racing just to name a few.
Our student athletes have the advantage of an abbreviated academic day, focusing on core academic subjects while at school and on developing their athletic abilities off campus.
