Happy New Year!!
The beginning of a new calendar year is viewed as a “new start” with many people making new year’s resolutions and beginning new activities such as working out, changing their eating habits, etc.
The beginning of school evokes a similar excitement among students. As we greeted new and returning students to our campus a couple of weeks ago, there was a sense of excitement among the students that this is going to be a “great year”.
The same excitement for the new school year is also present in our teachers and administration. We look forward to seeing the growth physically, emotionally and academically in our students. We are preparing the next generation to “Master Learning. Master Life.” What a blessing it is to have been chosen to carry out this mission.
Willow Bend Academy is a wonderful place for every student to be “somebody”. Teachers everywhere have a desire to bond with each of their students and have every student be “somebody”, but due to the number of students they see daily, it’s only possible to do so with a few.
At Willow Bend Academy, our teachers have only eight students at a time and can know each student intimately. A principal from another private school visited our campus in Plano a few days ago and remarked, “I love your approach of having a teacher over his/her “flock” of students”.
At our in service meetings, I reminded all of us that we are really “shepherds” gently guiding and encouraging our students to use their abilities to good advantage both now and in the future.
Thank you for entrusting your “sheep” to our school this year.
May we all be extremely blessed.
